Bit of an update

So, the indiegogo isn't going too well. Only $5 American have been raised so far, which is in the "red zone" for getting the project up and running. At this rate, BGA will not be happening.

In other news, I heard that a lot of Pony blogs from Tumblr that post porn (like Pet-Dash. warning: semi-NSFW content on end of link) have been deleted by Tumblr staff after being violently reported by a group hard-set on getting "bestiality" off of Tumblr (or possibly the internet. I'm not sure about that, though). As a result of being told this, I had an idea: What if there were a safe-haven for those blog authors to post their stuff at a minimal cost? (because everything costs money...)
I only think of this because some of those artists are really good at what they do. Now, of course, the investment would start by being completely out of my pockets (domain and server space), but hopefully over time, enough people would want their content to be hosted safely and without fear of being destroyed.
Now, the only reason I'd have to do it for money is because it would cost money to run the server(s) the service is hosted on. At the start, it would be safe enough to go with one server for content and data, but as the service grows, it would be smart to migrate content (such as pictures and videos) to a server that handles just those, so as to not slow down the main data server, which would host the rest of the system (the blog software). If that server gets slowed down, then everything goes to hell.

So that's my idea. Thoughts from my non-existent readers should go below this post in the comments section.

"...said no one, ever"

Really? Because you'd think that if you created this meme, someone would have had to said whatever "no one ever said" just to create that specific macro.

For example...

"Kickstarter" Time

So I was somehow able to think up an idea for a name for the community: Brony Gaming Alliance. I've created a "kickstarter" project on IndieGoGo.

link here

Just go take a look at it.

Looking to the future...

One of the things I've been thinking about doing recently is starting my own gaming community. I mentioned doing so in my last post (located here), and like I mentioned there, I'm missing some key things that are needed to start a community. Things like a theme (the binding factor for the members), server type (What kind of server should it be? Survival? Creative? Hardcore?), and a name. The first and last are, in my opinion, the more important parts that I need to figure out before purchasing anything. and I'd need to figure out the theme before the name so that I don't give the community a bad name. Like if the community were based around Doctor Who, for example, I wouldn't name the community "Sherlock-craft" or something like that. Sure, I'm exaggerating with that example, but it gets the point across.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has been a big part of my life recently, but it seems as though Minecraft servers for bronies are very abundant. This makes creating a pony-themed server difficult since all the really good names are taken already. Names like Brohoof, Pon3 Gaming, Ponycraft, My Little Minecraft, and others. No doubt there are even more pony servers out in the wild. Because of this, I'd prefer to stay away from MLP if I can, but there aren't many other interests of mine that would make for good Minecraft servers.

I can't really think of any ideas that aren't already taken (mostly because I'm not incredibly creative), so drop any of your own ideas down below in the comments. If I decide to use an idea from below, I'll be sure to contact whoever thought of it and ask permission to use it.

Major changes in my world

since may of 2012, I worked with Pon3 Gaming by managing their website and Teamspeak server. I remember starting with them when they were known as Froyoshark and were all about Minecraft. Those times have passed, now. I recently took my leave from the Pon3 community because of ideological differences between me and the owner. His personality left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, and I could no longer stand his methods of running a server.

I've considered running my own Minecraft server or general gaming community, but I'm missing one key point of having a community: the theme. It's what holds the community together and how people will find it. I don't want a general no-theme community where everyone does what they want. Those kind of communities usually fall apart quickly, unless they're lucky enough to survive somehow. What I want is a community that sticks together because of a common interest, such as My Little Pony or Doctor Who or something like that. The issue I'm having is, there are already too many MLP servers, Doctor Who is a difficult community to rally into playing a game, and almost anything else I could think of is one or the other.

I dont think that anyone that reads this is actually going to be able to give me ideas, because I don't have many readers. However, if you happen to have an idea that you think I'd like, be sure to comment below.
